Terms of Service
Please read through these terms as they will apply to you if you decide to get a tattoo from me.
Consultations
I offer free consultations for any client, whether they are in person or over zoom. This is for one tattoo session/ multiple back to back days. A client can have multiple ideas in one session if wished. However, please note that if the client changes their mind on the design(s), is a no show, or we need multiple consultations due bad organisation on the clients part, a fee of $50 will need to be made for a following consultation. This is up to the discretion of the artist.
Consultations are extremely important, as this is where I am able to understand the clients vision. Unless it is a very simple tattoo that is self explanatory, I will encourage a consultations, as this is what I will create the design from. We can go into as much detail as you want.
Consultations take between 10mins to half an hour. All consultations are recorded, along with notes made both previous to the consultation and during. Estimates are given at the end of the consultations once I have all the information I need.
Designs
Unless the tattoo is of a specific character, person, specific symbols or is extremely minimal, I will not blatantly copy someone else’s work/ tattoo design. I am happy to keep it close to a desired design, however there need to be changes made so it is referenced and not ‘traced’. If for some reason we do decide to do a design that is extremely similar to the reference, I may not post it in either my portfolio and/or social media due to copyright law.
I do not send out designs prior to the tattoo session. I will have all the information I need from our consultation to get a good understanding of what you want. Small changes can be made on the day, however if you change your mind on the design, you will need to rebook your appointment and pay another booking fee, as the last fee would cover the work done for the previous design. In simple terms, I’m not designing a custom piece for free.
I am a custom tattoo artist, so most of my work is created superficially for you, the client. If for some reason you no longer want a tattoo design that has already been created, it can later be offered as a flash piece - conditions may apply.
All my flash designs are custom pieces, though could be references from other designs.
I also do offer freehand tattoos - feel free to ask about these in the consultation.
Booking a tattoo
You can only book a tattoo session through me (the artist). This can be done of a few ways. The best way is through having a consultation. I will be able to give you all the information beforehand, lock in a time and date that suits both of us, and answer any questions you have.
Second is through DM - I can get all the information from you is (relatively) quick timing, offer advice and this is great if you are looking to get just a small tattoo and don’t need a consult.
Lastly is via email. Least preferred as there can be a lot of back and forth.
You cannot book a tattoo session via phone.
All tattoo sessions require a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 booking fee. This is very important to note - if you are serious about getting a tattoo then be serious about the booking. This can be transferred to a later date in needed (ie due to sickness) up to twice. Booking fees expire after two years. If you cancel your booking, you will not receive a refund.
Walk ins do not require a booking fee on the day if you will be tattooed within the hour. Walk-ins are not guaranteed as I’m usually not in store if I do not have work on.
Booking fees come off the final price of the tattoo.
Pricing
How much for a tattoo? How long is a piece of string. Tattoo artists will need a lot more info from you before we can give you even an estimate.
Most shops have a minimum usually between $150 - $200. My minimum is $170.
Shops and tattoo artists can have different ways of pricing so ask how they price. Most places/people have a minimum, a day rate, and then price by piece depending on the level of detail, style, size, placement, and colour. This is the preferred method, as ‘per hour’ can depend on how well the client sits and how the artist is working on any given day - which could possibly mean that you get charged more. Per piece means there is no time restrains and both the artist and the client isn’t feeling like the tattoo is rushed.
To get a ballpark you can use the Inkbot that will be intergrated into the website soon. To get a more specific estimate, make a consult booking with me. Final pricing is given on the day once we decide on the specific size.
Adding extra tattoos or extra things onto the original design will mean you pay more which may be outside of the earlier estimate.
Flash pricing is cheaper as the designs are already created. On my website I offer preferred sizing along with pricing.
And yes - I do have a referral system and return policy! I ask for more info.
Payment
Preferred payment is NZ Bank transfer or cash. PayPal is ONLY used for overseas clients who are paying for the booking fee. I can also accept debit or credit card (card details are needed). No payWave, afterpay, layby or eftpos sorry.
Payment is due at the end of the session, your price will be given to you before we start. Please make sure you have put aside the higher end of the estimate given to make sure you have enough money. I am able to send invoices if easier. Receipts are available for those using a card.
Behaviour
I will not tolerate any disruptive behaviour. This includes cussing, being loud, being rude, hate speech, creating damage or leaving trash in the shop area and distracting to the artists within the work space. This extends to friends and family who accompany you including children. Please organise your children to be with a trusted friend or family member. If able please come alone, or organise your friends to come back later once the tattoo is done. Our studio is very small and can only accomodate a few people at a time. If you are too disruptive, you will be asked to leave, lose your booking fee and will not be able to book in again. Be kind and you will be treated with respect.
Truthful statements
I have a small document for you to sign before booking a tattoo session to make sure you are across everything, and then another paper to sign before the tattoo. This includes you being over 18 YEARS OF AGE, letting me know about any medication or conditions you may have, and having agreed to the terms of service. Please make sure everything is filled out to the best of your abilities.
